"Computers for Kids Program"
Your help is Needed to Open Computing Opportunities to those who are Disadvantaged.
The Chicagoland Chapter of NAIFA has partnered with Dr. Paul Kaiser and Dr. Ray Klump in the Mathmatics and Computer Science Department at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.
How can You Help??
The Mathmatics and Computer Science Department, through the work of Dr. Kaiser and Dr. Klump, has initiated a program to reclaim older desktop computers and refurbish them to a usable state and then donate them to schools that are not able to fund their own programs.
The following items are most useful fo this effort:
-
CPU - Desktops - most manufactured since 2000, this includes Pentium III's and AMD Athlons and later;
-
Monitors - 17" CRT's or any narrow flat screens;
-
Hard Drives that are 4 GB or larger
-
RAM - 128 MB or larger;
-
Speakers
-
Keyboards and Mice
-
Power and USB Cables - Networking Cables, Switches and Routers.

If you have any questions or have items to donate, you can contact either Professor Klump at 815.836.5528 or Tom Majchrzak at 815.483.3387. You can also become a partner - contact Professor Klump for additional information, and thank you.
